At the beginning of sheet music, there are two numbers, called the time signature. The time signature tells us the number of beats to each note and each measure. This number is like a fraction without the line, and is seen on the right of the treble and bass clef.
The bottom number can change but majority of sheet music for beginners commonly use 4.
